If you get the chance...

You should attend the Draper temple open house. My roomate Gina and I had a empty day and decided we would go to the open house. It was one of the first days and we ended up going to a VIP night for Stake Presidents and Bishops. We got the VIP tour, food after the tour and a MOTAB CD! We were feeling pretty special.

Kairsee this one is for you!!!

So a while back my old roomate from BYU-I, Kairsee sent me this project. The picture was actually done with scrapbook paper but it suggested using black and white pictures. So I got art canvases (12 X 12) painted the edges black. Then you take Modge Podge from Michaels put it on the canvas then put your picture on. Then take the Modge Podge with a sponge brush and cover the picture with it. Then you get a picture that doesn't look like it is even glued on!! But this is the finished product. I thought it turned out really good and can't wait to do some bigger ones later on. I took all of these pictures when I was in the east so there is a lot of the sacred grove, kirtland, and then the Alpine Loop here in Utah.

Love the air Quality in Salt Lake!!

This is why Salt lake is rated one of the top three cities with bad air quality. We have had this smog just sitting in the valley for a week now. It is really messing with people's sinuses and I was shocked at how many people have been sick lately. Due to the high air pressure this haze won't leave until we have a storm which might come on Sunday.

Welcome 2009!!!

Well I finally had my camera, computer, and my camera coard all in the same room so I finally added pictures. This is what I have been up to lately. Some arrangements from work. I get really bored doing the same things so I try to change it up. I did get to take a week off of work and I tried to get a lot done but I spent three days trying to paint my table and chairs. A bigger project than what I thought. I was then able to go home and get my car looked at and get my hair done. It was nice to relax and sad to go back to work.

This is my cake that I did for my final. It wasn't what I wanted to do but I had to make some changes due to problems and time. But it was fun.

Man I need more time in a day!!

So this week I have spent most of my time being sick. Just a cold but still it has wiped me out. I even missed school one day and I have only missed one other day for Ainslie's Graduation. I have gotten some orders for candy and they are coming. I just haven't had the energy or the chance of getting anyone sick so for that fact I haven't made them yet. But they will be on their way shortly. I only have two more weeks of school left for the year!!! Yea!!!! In my display cake class I have to make a three teir wedding cake so here are some of my ideas. In the first cake I am going to do the way the cake is set on top of each other kinda off set and the second pic is what I am actually going to do for the piping. Wish me good luck. We also have to do buffet desserts so I am doing chocolate cup creme brulee and small key lime pies.

Simply Sweeter Candies

Here is my newest adventure. At the floral shop they buy toffee from this lady. The other day Robert was complaining about the way she packaged them so I brought up the option of me making toffee and candies for them and selling them to them. Well today I pitched these ideas to Robert and he loved it. So now we just have to get Pam on board. This is Almond Toffee and some is dipped in chocolate. I am going to start a small business right now and see where it goes. I have to get a business licence so I have to have a name. I've come up with Simply Sweeter Candies. If anyone is interested in Christmas candy let me know.
