Simply Sweeter Candies

Here is my newest adventure. At the floral shop they buy toffee from this lady. The other day Robert was complaining about the way she packaged them so I brought up the option of me making toffee and candies for them and selling them to them. Well today I pitched these ideas to Robert and he loved it. So now we just have to get Pam on board. This is Almond Toffee and some is dipped in chocolate. I am going to start a small business right now and see where it goes. I have to get a business licence so I have to have a name. I've come up with Simply Sweeter Candies. If anyone is interested in Christmas candy let me know.

Still Moving!!!

So I am still in the moving process. My lease ends this saturday on my apartment. I still have to clean the kitchen but it will get done hopefully tommorrow before work. I love my new place. I have a pretty big room and my own bathroom so it makes things nice. I am living with two other girls and things are going good. Anyways I made a golfing groomscake today for my midterm I will have to get pictures on when my internet is working at home. My Halloween costume was pretty cute this year. Ains gave me the idea of Mrs. Potato Head.

Life as Allyson Gillette!!!!

So I have a way of bringing drama into my life. Monday I got to work from school and ran up to get changed. I had put my cell phone in the pocket of my sweatshirt. I bent over to grab something and somehow my phone fell out of my pocket and yes into the toilet. So as I was once again being laughed at (geez I was just barely living down my nacho spill with my ankle and now this) I have lost all phone numbers. Thankfully my dad overnighted the package and I was once again able to communicate. I know life as Allyson Gillette couldn't get any funnier.
People have been asking lately what I have been doing in school so I thought I would show you some things. This first pic is a swan made out of eclair paste and whipping cream. The second is a crocomboosh which is the french traditional wedding cake. I have blisters from the carmel on it. Righ now I am in a class for display cakes. Yes that means wedding cakes!!! For our final we will have to make a three teir wedding cake. It is exciting but scary at the same time. I have about a year left or three quarters (sounds better like that because it doesn't seem so long).

These are pictures of my final in American Regional last quarter. We made a Cream of Garlic Soup, Pear and Hazelnut salad, Ginger tamerin chicken, potato croquet, sauted veggies, pinapple fritters (which were amazing) with a mago sauce and coconut icecream.

Our appitizers that our chef was a little worried when we told her our plating idea but she ended up really liking it.

Alpine Loop

So Friday I had a mission reunion and my old companion Janae Niebaur came and stayed with me. On Saturday we went to the Alpine Loop to see what it was all about. This is what I found. It was raining but it was so worth it. I have photoshoped some of these pictures but they are all natural other than a little brightening and sharpening. Enjoy the fall colors!!!!!
