Internship at...

CARRIE'S CAKES!!! Carrie's Cakes is my favorite cake designers. They are located in Draper. I just got a email from her today saying she would love for me to come and do an internship with her. So July thru September I will be working the weekends with her. At Every Blooming Thing we work a lot with Carrie. Infact we consider her part of the EBT Family. I am so excited. Here is some of her work:

School, Work, School, Work...

So I feel like all I do is work and go to school and have no time to do anything else. This last week we had a fundraiser called Blooming Hope. This is where we go to the Spring Home and Garden Show and all flowers and our time are donated. We are on a stage for 2-3 hours arranging flowers to raise money for Primary Childrens Hospital. We really don't have any time to think about where the flowers are going or any type of designs. It was really fun to see the reaction of Pam to some of my designs because she never gets to work with me.

These are flowers from the Nordstroms open house for their new store in murray.

Well at school I only have two quarters left. It is really nice to think I am almost done. Here are some tortes from my European Cakes and Tortes.

Oh Valentines Day...

How I hate valentines day working at a floral shop. I have worked 45 hours in this last week. I usually work 20! Anyways Friday I had a 3 hour class so I went to work from 8 to 12 and went to class from 2-5 and then back to work until 11:15 PM! We had three high school dances plus Valentines stuff. Oh how I just want to crawl in bed and go to sleep!

Love Sunrises...

This is what I woke up to on Thursday and I couldnt' resist a picture. I did have to photoshop these a little due to no time getting the settings right but it's pretty true to the colors. Enjoy!

If you get the chance...

You should attend the Draper temple open house. My roomate Gina and I had a empty day and decided we would go to the open house. It was one of the first days and we ended up going to a VIP night for Stake Presidents and Bishops. We got the VIP tour, food after the tour and a MOTAB CD! We were feeling pretty special.

Kairsee this one is for you!!!

So a while back my old roomate from BYU-I, Kairsee sent me this project. The picture was actually done with scrapbook paper but it suggested using black and white pictures. So I got art canvases (12 X 12) painted the edges black. Then you take Modge Podge from Michaels put it on the canvas then put your picture on. Then take the Modge Podge with a sponge brush and cover the picture with it. Then you get a picture that doesn't look like it is even glued on!! But this is the finished product. I thought it turned out really good and can't wait to do some bigger ones later on. I took all of these pictures when I was in the east so there is a lot of the sacred grove, kirtland, and then the Alpine Loop here in Utah.
